A parameterization of the mechanism by which solar activity influences Earth’s climate system, currently developed at the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics SB RAS, is presented. This parametrization accounts for solar wind modulation of cosmic rays and ionospheric electric potential. The spectral radiation block in atmospheric general circulation models was modified, including water vapor parameterizations, to align calculated changes in radiation fluxes with observations during heliogeophysical disturbances. Model calculations for the April 23, 2023 powerful magnetic storm yielded coefficients determining the efficiency of solar influence on water vapor absorption in spectral lines and continuum, and on cloud formation.
