The report presents a study of the intra-annual variability of the vertical–temporal structure of background aerosol and its integrated content in the stratosphere based on an analysis of aerosol optical characteristics. The results were obtained using the lidar system of the High Altitude Atmospheric Sounding Station of the V.E. Zuev Institute of Atmospheric Optics SB RAS for 2025. Monitoring data from previous years reveal a stable cyclic pattern in stratospheric aerosol loading, with maximum content observed in winter and minimum in summer, differing by a factor of about three. In the upper stratosphere (30 - 50 km), background aerosol is practically absent throughout the year. In 2025, two significant events were observed in the dynamics of stratospheric aerosol: the occurrence of polar stratospheric clouds and the formation of pyrocumulonimbus clouds associated with forest fires.
