For the first time in 2024-2025, aerosol particles with a size of 0.8, 2.0, 5.0, and 10.0 microns were collected over Lake Baikal for subsequent chemical analysis of the ionic and trace element composition. The total concentrations of ions in different aerosol fractions varied from 0.7 to 4.5 μg/m3, depending on the route and direction of the air masses. The concentrations of the sum of 27 trace elements in the aerosol, as well as the concentrations of ions, changed as the ship moved from south to north. In general, higher concentrations were found for the elements Fe, Mn, Al, B, Sn, and Ni. It was noted that the trace elements of terrigenous origin (Fe, Mn, Al, Ba) contribute the most to the overall level of atmospheric pollution over Lake Baikal (85%).
