This work experimentally demonstrates, using two independent methods, the existence of a highly transparent spectral interval in the mid-IR wavelength range. This transparency interval can be used for technological purposes: controlling laser cutting of steel structures during firefighting in factories, guiding ships through dense fog and smoke in challenging Arctic conditions, and observing objects through the flame.
