The paper studies the long-term dynamics of thunderstorm activity in the Irkutsk region and near-Baikal lake territory. The data of observations at meteorological stations of the Irkutsk UHMS, as well as archival data from literature sources were used. The criterion of thunderstorm dynamics was information on the number of days with thunderstorms per year. The long-term dynamics of the number of days with thunderstorms was studied and the activity of thunderstorms in the region was compared with the solar activity cycles in the periods from 1997 to 2023.
