The report describes the key results of studies of steppe and upper steppe fire front characteristics and their influence on local atmospheric characteristics. It is established that due to the spread of a model fire there is the formation of induced atmospheric turbulence, manifested in the change of the structural characteristic of refractive index fluctuations, change of local meteorological parameters, emission of gaseous and condensed combustion products into the atmosphere. It was found that as a result of combustion in the vicinity of the experiment aerosol fractions with particle diameter less than 0.65 μm prevail, and the release of condensed combustion products into the atmosphere together with the formation of induced atmospheric turbulence can form the basis for the method of remote detection of the fire center location.
