DETERMINATION OF THE VELOCITY AND DIRECTION OF PROPAGATION OF AN INTERNAL GRAVITY WAVE FROM MEASUREMENTS BY THREE PULSED COHERENT DOPPLER LIDARS
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
A method has been developed for estimating the speed and direction of internal gravity wave (IGW) propagation from measurements by three pulsed coherent Doppler lidars (PCDL) spaced at certain distances horizontally. The method was tested in the fall of 2024 in an experiment using 1) PCDL LRV-1 on the roof of the IAO SB RAS building, 2) PCDL LRV-2 on the territory of the IAO SB RAS Basic Experimental Complex, and 3) PCDL Stream Line on the territory of a private sector in the Academichesky microdistrict of Tomsk with a vertical direction of all three probing beams. The additional use of conical scanning in measurements by PCDL LRV-1 and Stream Line lidars made it possible to compare lidar estimates of wind velocity vectors and IGW propagation.
