The paper presents summary data on the concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in aerosol, which were measured during seven expeditions in the Arctic Ocean: in the Barents and Kara Seas, in the Norwegian-Greenland sector, and in the northern (>77° N) and southern parts of the Arctic seas. Higher total PAHs content was observed over the Barents Sea (0.841 ng/m3) and in the southern part of the Arctic seas (0.824 ng/m3). Regardless of the measurement area, the PAHs content decreases in the following sequence: 1) naphthalene and phenanthrene, 2) 2- and 1-methylnaphthalenes, 3) fluorene and fluoranthene. The share of these compounds is 83% of the total amount of PAHs. The relationships between the variability of concentrations of individual types of PAHs are considered.
